Of all of the pictures I took in the Lake District, this has to be my favorite. I instead to write descriptions for each image eventually, but given that I only have five weeks left to write my final architectural thesis I'm afraid they'll have to wait. I do feel however, that this image deserves one. This is perhaps my favorite spot to take sunset photos of in the Lakes - I have several dotted throughout my photostream. This was taken on the final night of my trip - the weather had been a little unkind to us over the week I was there. But finally, on the last evening I was presented with this view.

Two photos were taken for this image, both using an ND8 grad filter to give the water the glassy, icy effect (wish it had been ice). The lower two thirds were exposed for 1 minute, whilst the upper third was exposed for 30 seconds. The two images were then carefully blended in photoshop. Doing this gives an illuminance to the water whilst retaining the deep colours of the sky. I hope you like.

Cunningham Falls

So this is a cool little waterfall that is visible from Upper Falling Water Road in Ben Hur, Arkansas. It is a small feeder creek to Falling Water Creek. The coolest thing is it's located between two waterfalls featured in the Tim Ernst Guidebooks - Falling Water Falls and Six Finger Falls. There's a few other waterfalls along the road some featured in Tim's book and some that aren't. There's also some amazing view of Falling Water Creek along the way.

It's named after the 2009 MVP for FC Dallas - Jeff Cunningham. To get to Cunningham Falls from Highway 7 take Highway 16 into Ben Hur. About a mile past Ben Hur turn onto Upper Falling Water Road (FR# 1205). Drive down this road about 4.5 miles and you'll see Cunningham Falls on your left.

This waterfall is situated between two very steep hillsides. it's not a hard trip but does require a lot of caution to not slide down to the rocks below.
